Re-naming already?

Yep. I always knew the other name didn’t quite fit.

My previous name, Mahking Headlines, had a purposeful typo to imply that I’d be mocking the headlines I cover. However, while a few are definitely worth mocking, the true point of why I write these posts is to try and sift through what is true and what is false, and to think critically about what I read in the news.

Some political bloggers are super decisive and committed to one side, which allow them to be sharper and funnier. That will never be me. I’m too obsessed with seeing a bird’s eye view and getting the whole story. I care less about coming to a conclusion and more about collecting perspectives.

So, I think “vetting” is a better word for what I’m trying to do here. For all of you are reading and who have encouraged me outside of this space, thank you so much. You’re encouraging someone who has been low on inspiration for years, and who is now revved up and constantly buzzing about meeting a new challenge every week.

Stay tuned - this week is gonna be an interesting one.
